The European Arrest Warrant is one of the most important instruments for judicial cooperation in criminal matters within the European Union. It allows Member States to cooperate more rapidly and effectively in cross-border surrender procedures. However, its practical application remains complex.
Justice practitioners often need to navigate EU legislation, national legal frameworks, case law, procedural rules, language barriers and different judicial practices across Member States. These challenges may affect the speed, consistency and efficiency of EAW procedures.
